Chefs in Training - Spring Rolls

This week, Cooking Club made spring rolls and boy were they delicious! The children had to prepare the inside ingredients first! So we took to cutting up cucumbers and peppers, shredding carrots, cutting up the ham and fish, and finally washing the lamb's lettuce. Once we had the ingredients ready, we took a large bowl of warm water and took out one rice paper at a time and soaked it in the water until it became light and movable. Then, we took out the paper and placed it as flat as possible on the table and started adding ingredients. Everyone got choose what they liked and it was interesting to see some of the combinations they chose. Then the hard part came! They had to roll the paper, while keeping everything inside, and it took everyone a couple of tries to get it right. Once they were rolled up, we let them dry and then tasted them!
