Chefs in Training - Fruit Faces

This week the Cooking club made rice cake fruit faces. We started off by preparing the fruit. The children took the mango, strawberries, raspberries, and yellow kiwi for washing. Afterwards, we discussed the correct way to cut the fruit so that it fits on our rice cakes. Everyone got a chance to cut different kinds of fruit and then collected them in separate bowls. We then mixed cream cheese so that it was creamier and easier to spread on the rice cakes. Each child took their time spreading it on as a base and then carefully picking what fruit would be what body part. As you can see by the pictures, some children got very creative with expressions and facial features. Everyone got very excited when they were allowed to eat their snacks immediately.
