Chefs in Training- Sweet Potato Mash
Looking at a sweet potato, the children guessed that it was a pumpkin, a carrot, or something strange. When they were given a chance to try it, the children refused. However, once they started to mash it, they had lots of fun and helped each other. After combining the masshed sweet potato with coconut milk, maple syrup, cinnamon, and sea salt, the children used their arm muscles to mix it well. We layered the mash with a variety of chopped nuts and drizzles of maple syrup. The second tasting went very well, they even asked for seconds.
