Chefs in Training - Pickled Veggies
This week in cooking club, the children chose different kinds of veggies, which we washed and cut for pickling. We used red onion, radishes, and cucumbers. After cutting them up, we added them to jars, and we decided on what kind of spices we would use, between salt and pepper, cumin, and bay leaves. After adding a combination of vinegar and water, we secured the tops and now, we must wait patiently for about two weeks. It's one of the hardest things for us to do!
