Chefs in Training - Chunky Pico de Gallo
This rainy day, we spent our Cooking club making some chunky salsa, Pico de Gallo. We used our fine motor skills to cut up the roma tomatoes and we squeezed juice from limes. We tried bits of cilantro and jalopeno peppers, but the conclusion was to only put in the cilantro. No one enjoyed the jalapeno except their teacher. We added chopped purple onion and corn to the mix and seasoned with salt and pepper. After giving it a good mix, the children used quinoa chips to dip and try their salsa. It was a great hit!
